Dear Bethesda Family,
We are excited to invite and encourage everyone, especially you, to come celebrate the Resurrection on Easter Day, April 4, 2021. Like everything else this year, Easter will look different from previous years. Because we could not safely accommodate even a small congregation in the church, we will make use of our beautiful grounds for worship, as we have been doing now for several months.
In order to welcome everyone who wishes to worship and receive Easter communion, we will hold simultaneous services in the Garden Chapel, the Garth, and the south lawn at 7:30, 9:00, and 10:30 a.m.* Services in each location will include the Rector’s sermon (delivered by the presiding priest in each service), a choir accompanied by piano/organ, and an instrumental ensemble.
We encourage everyone attending to dress comfortably for warm weather with comfortable shoes that will be safe on uneven surfaces and grass and to bring whatever gear will help with sun and rain. We will require properly-worn masks and safe distancing by everyone in attendance. Also, please plan to arrive with enough time to park and make your way to your seat by no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled service start time. At 15 minutes prior, we will begin seating people who have not made a reservation, and those who have not yet arrived may lose their seat.
You will need to make a reservation for the service time and location you wish to attend. To do so, please go to this site: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d45aeaa2ba2f9cf8-easter, select an available service, enter your name and email address, and the number of people in your household coming with you. We will seat those in each reservation together, socially distanced from other households. Of course, the sooner you do so, the higher the chances the service you prefer will be available.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if we can be of any assistance as you make your Easter worship plans.
We look forward to being together on this holiest day of the year and thank you for coming along in this year like no other.
*We will also hold a 6:00 a.m. service in the Garden Chapel, which will also require reservations.
