Bethesda-by-the-Sea has the benefit of having COVID guidelines both from the Diocese of Southeast Florida and the CDC. We have carefully followed their wise counsel and I believe we have made a series of sound decisions based upon their advice. Additionally, we have been closely following the numbers in Palm Beach County and the advice of local and regional physicians. From the beginning of the pandemic, we have made the health and safety of this congregation our highest priority, while also attempting to remain “open” under careful protocols.
COVID-19 cases are falling rapidly in Palm Beach County, and while we continue to monitor this situation carefully, we are persuaded that at this juncture we can adjust our protocols.
As of this Sunday, March 13, we are moving from a “mask request and encouragement” to “MASK OPTIONAL.” For all indoor worship and activities, it is now your option to wear or not to wear a mask. We continue to encourage using sanitizers to clean your hands when applicable.
We ask everyone who has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus, or anyone who is awaiting a test result, to participate in online worship services from home.
We ask that all clergy, staff, volunteers, parishioners, and visitors treat others with courtesy and respect at all times, and we continue to encourage those who are able, to be vaccinated and to receive a booster.
May we be given grace and forbearance to address these current conditions, and the hope of healthier days ahead. I extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous spirit and service.
Faithfully,
Bob Dannals
Interim Rector
