Welcome Message

Welcome to the Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea! We are an historic Episcopal parish that has served as a beacon of hope and love on Palm Beach for generations. Our parishioners come from a variety of communities throughout the area, and we would be delighted for you to join us on a Sunday.

Our parish name means House of Healing-by-the-Sea, and we strive to be just that. We are not a club, but a church that is open to all seeking to encounter and walk with Jesus Christ in their lives.

At Bethesda, you will find beautiful sacred space, enchanting church grounds, inspiring music in the Anglican choral tradition, a welcoming community, strong education programs for children and adults, opportunities to serve others, and hope-filled and inclusive preaching.

We think Bethesda is a pretty special place and encourage you to join us for worship either in person or online. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Peace,

The Rev. Tim Schenck, Rector

Church Tours

We invite you to join us for our free, docent-led church tours to learn more about our sacred space. Our gothic revival church building is full of rich history, beautiful stained glass windows, wood carvings, and art. You’re also invited to stroll through our courtyard and gardens, visiting our koi pond (where you can feed the fish) and the outdoor chapel.

Guided tours are offered on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month following the main church service. November to May, the main service begins at 11:00 am; otherwise, it begins at 10:00 am).

Tours for local schools, groups and families are available by appointment. Contact the church office.

The church is open most weekdays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The church will be closed to tours during weddings, funerals, and other church services and events. Check with the church office at (561) 655-4554.
