Middle Way Spotlight – Social Media and Civil Discourse w/ Special Guest The Rev. Jay Kim

It’s hard to think of any recent technology that has affected how we talk to each other in this country more than social media. A handful of computer hackers have created communication platforms designed to enflame discourse, whether through anger, anxiety, depression, or awe. Our guest, the Rev. Jay Kim, has been doing a lot of thinking on this topic working in Silicon Valley at WestGate Church in San Jose, CA. He’ll be sharing insights from his book Analog Christian: Cultivating Contentment, Resilience, and Wisdom in the Digital Age and helping us to figure out how to monitor the way social media affects our spiritual lives.
