Pastoral Care

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” –Colossians 3:12-14

At Bethesda-by-the-Sea we clothe ourselves in compassion through our pastoral care program, “Bethesda Cares,” an organizational structure that includes the clergy, staff, and trained lay members of the congregation. Through a network of helping hands and hearts, this inreach ministry provides support to members of the congregation during times of need. In these pages you will find information about the ministries we offer, including Eucharistic Visitors, the prayer chain, and clergy visitation.

In these uncertain times, we are trying to maintain a sense of community and togetherness as we “social distance” from each other.  We encourage you to reach out if you are feeling alone, if you’re in need, or if you just want to let us know how you’re doing.

The staff are all working in the office and are available as usual by phone. Give us a call or send an email. We would love to hear how you are doing.
